Most of the world lives very poorly, unlike those in industrialized countries. They are lacking in the basic essentials: food, shelter and health care.
Renewable resources have been addressed by other help groups, but health care have not been bought up to adequacy.
Short term medical workers cannot sustain care, language / cultural barriers have blocked inroads to what is a growing health care problem in the 3rd world.  

Additionally, according to NCOHF web site:
“The #1 Childhood Disease  is Pediatric Dental Disease”   !

MORE THAN 80% in the 3rd world SUFFER FROM SERIOUS ORAL HEALTH PROBLEMS THAT NEGATIVELY impact their ability to eat, sleep and learn. Discolored, decayed and abscessed teeth are painful and can result in severe psychological, social and economic consequences. 
Before the institution of preventive dentistry in the 1950s, USA had an even higher caries rate.  So we know It's completely preventable with help from caring individuals like you.... it can be dealt with by low  tech, minimally trained personnel and low amt of resources.
